Chad Schauffler

Team Manager

Based in East Independence, MO, Chad's love for cycling began in childhood, but it transformed into a serious passion about 12 years ago when he picked up a mountain bike. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into an obsession, and these days, you’ll find him predominantly on the road, embracing the thrill of the ride.

With around 12 years of dedicated cycling experience, Chad has participated in various events, including crit races, road races, and fondos. He has achieved notable success with multiple podium finishes and even a series win in crit racing, showcasing his competitive spirit and determination.

While Chad may not be a climber—coming in at 190 pounds—he possesses a strong sprinting ability and a passion for endurance cycling, making him a formidable competitor on the road.

Beyond his racing prowess, Chad brings a wealth of experience to the team. As a former head fitness coach for elementary school clubs and a personal trainer, he provides valuable mentorship and guidance. His mechanical skills, honed through years of practice, allow him to assist with bike repairs and racing strategies, ensuring the team operates smoothly.

Outside of cycling, Chad has a deep passion for martial arts, having practiced since childhood. His competitive spirit extends to taekwondo, kickboxing, and MMA. When he’s not on the bike or training, he enjoys camping, hiking, and spending quality time outdoors with his wife, kids, and dogs.

Chad's short-term goals include continuing to compete in road races and fondos, with occasional crits thrown in for good measure. He also has aspirations to explore mountain and gravel racing in the future, pending the right resources.

Though Chad describes himself as a quiet individual, he connects well with everyone on the team, fostering a supportive and friendly environment.

Chad draws inspiration from his passion for fitness and the great outdoors, viewing cycling as his form of meditation. His family serves as a constant source of support, encouraging him through the challenges of racing and long rides.

Reflecting his philosophy on racing, Chad lives by the words of Sun Tzu: “Victory is reserved for those willing to pay its price,” a motto tattooed on his chest that encapsulates his commitment and dedication to the sport.
